Sean H. Costello

Sean is licensed in Idaho and Washington, practicing in both state and federal courts and an array of local, state, and federal administrative forums. He provides expert general counsel support to governmental and quasi-governmental entities, primarily in the fields of administrative law, real property, housing, public finance, mortgage banking, creditor’s rights, as well as energy, utility, and water law. He is an active member of the National Association of Bond Lawyers (NABL) and numerous Idaho and Washington bar sections. 

Prior to joining the firm Sean spent over a decade as a Deputy Attorney General, as in-house general counsel supporting multiple natural resource and energy agencies, boards, and commissions. Sean has an extensive knowledge of the legal needs of both public and private entities—from basic administrative and business legal issues, enforcement support, employment matters, and financial and contractual matters, to civil litigation and appellate representation.

Sean was born in Washington and raised in Boise. He has a BA in history and writing from Boise State University, and a JD from the University of Idaho (2011).

In his spare time, he enjoys landscape and residential design and construction, as well as exploring Idaho and the West with his spouse and two sons.
