John R. McDevitt is an associate with the firm and focuses his practice on certain aspects of public finance, including school district bonds, urban renewal and economic development bonds, special assessment and local improvement bonds, single family mortgage revenue bonds, and refundings. John also focuses a portion of his practice on creditor’s rights, including the representation of consumer and commercial lenders, foreclosures, bankruptcy, and mechanic’s liens.
John received his J.D. degree from the University of Idaho College of Law, where he was a member of the Bankruptcy Moot Court Team and the treasurer of the Business Law Association. Following law school, John served as law clerk to the Honorable Alvin R. Kacin, District Judge for the Fourth Judicial District Court of the State of Nevada. John was admitted to the Idaho State Bar in 2012, and joined the firm in June of that year.
John was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, and was raised in Boise, Idaho. He received his B.A. from Boise State University in 2003.
In his spare time, John enjoys trail running, skiing, bicycling, and exploring the deserts, rivers, and mountains of the Western United States.
